There are obviously many options for routes from John O Groats to Lands End. Contrary to popular belief it isn’t downhill all the way! In fact there is slightly more climbing doing JOGLE than LEJOG. The route we are following is a route ridden by Royston Wood who has written a few books on End to End cycling He has ridden South to North and the reverse but was concerned with the dangers on busy roads. The route we are following is described as a safer route. Although longer than the more direct route it avoids the busy A roads and provides a more scenic ride to enjoy while our legs are screaming in pain. The ride is split into 16 sections Please click on the link for a more detailed map of each section If you fancy giving it a go sometime please contact us and we can send you the gpx files
The ride in total is 950 miles (not including mistakes) and involves 44,000 feet of excruciating climbing (Have I convinced you to donate yet??? )
