The Walker
Dale Thomas – Aged 63 in August. Dale retired recently from a career in the Software industry. His passion for ultra marathons (He has run the Marathon Des Sables and other crazy endurance events) was cut short when he was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in early 2020. After a tough year of treatment, he finally saw the back of it and completed last years John O Groats to Lands End cycle. He is now full on, training for this years challenge.
Support Team
Alan Francis – Retired from The Hot Bread Shop and not so recently from South Wales Fire and Rescue. Age 63 in July. Alan has enjoyed social cycling for a few years with a local club and last year, with Dale completed the John O Groats to Lands End cycle ride. Illness has meant that this year he is confined to a support role but he hopes to be taking a full role in whatever next years challenge is!
The IT department
Paul is director of The Hot Bread Shop in Newport. Last year he raised lots of money for our charity bike ride with a pizza night and lots of other initiatives He was invaluable with help setting up the website and facebook page and has agreed to help the pensioners this year!
